Local artist Karl Rudziak will be offering art demonstrations of his painting at The Kings Theatre this winter. Karl’s work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery and is featured in the book 500 portraits: BP Portrait Award by Sandy Nairn and he can be seen working down in Old Portsmouth in his studio as a Hotwalls Studios resident artist.
The Kings Theatre are offering two demonstrations on:
– Wednesday 7th December from 6 to 9.30pm
– Tuesday 13th December from 6 to 9.30pm
Participants will have the opportunity to discover the techniques & processes that Karl Rudziak uses to paint his striking and realistic portraits. You get to meet, question and discuss the process behind painting a portrait other than just producing a likeness.
Davina Cherry, Head of Art and Design at Admiral Lord Nelson School said ‘Students find his demonstrations truly fascinating and find his insights invaluable when they go to paint their own realistic portraits. His input has been invaluable and the student’s skills and confidence grows from this opportunity and the quality of portraiture has vastly improved!’
Each session is only £25 and spaces are limited. To book a place on one of the two workshops please book online HERE, over the phone or in person at the box office.
