We’re delighted to announce that the Strong Island Calendar 2027 is back, and we’re inviting photographers from across Portsmouth, Southsea and the wider PO postcode area to submit their favourite local photographs for a chance to feature in next year’s calendar.

Following our move from Marmion Road to Castle Road last winter, there was simply too much going on for us to produce a 2026 edition. While we were disappointed to miss a year, we’re now settled into our new home and excited to relaunch one of our favourite annual community projects.

If you’re new to the Strong Island Calendar, entering is simple. There is no limit to the number of photographs you can submit. The only requirement is that every image must feature a location within Portsmouth or the wider PO postcode area.

Each year, the calendar celebrates the places, people and landscapes that make Portsmouth unique. From the historic waterfront and Old Portsmouth to Southsea seafront, Hilsea, Cosham, Port Solent and the surrounding PO postcode districts, we’d love to showcase every corner of our city and beyond. So if you know someone with a passion for Portsmouth photography, please encourage them to get involved.

If you’ve already shared a photo on Instagram, Facebook or X that you think would make a great addition, simply include the hashtag #SIC2027 to enter.

Whether you’re a professional photographer, an enthusiastic amateur or someone who captured the perfect moment on your phone, we’d love to see your work. Some of our favourite photographs over the years have come from first-time entrants, proving that great images are about creativity and timing rather than expensive equipment.

If your photograph is selected for the Strong Island Calendar 2027, you’ll receive a complimentary copy of the calendar and an invitation to our special exhibition and launch event at the Strong Island store on Castle Road this November.
