Preview: This Saturday’s Fitness Festival

The Fitness Festival returns to Southsea’s Castle Field tomorrow. Now in its third year, SWEAT Southsea founders and festival founders Luke and Tina Newton set out to create an event that would inspire and celebrate active and healthy lifestyles. The event is free to attend and aims to celebrate and inspire active and healthy lifestyles. You can pop down and take part in free classes or you can learn more about local and national organisations, teams, charities, and businesses.

You will find special guests and Portsmouth’s very own Olympian Katy Sexton MBE and Paratriathlete and Rio 2016 silver medallist Lauren Steadman. There will be national retailers such as Neat Nutrition and Frill with their sugar and dairy free ice cream! Exhibitors will be showcasing their businesses and on the day activities will include volleyball, tennis, trampoline classes, Yoga, inclusive sports through Event Partner Pompey in the Community, workshops and much more.

Katy and Lauren will be on stage to take part in a Q&A as will other guests include industry experts including Island Feather founder Claudia Albrecht and the former University of Portsmouth graduate Natalie Summers who is Bear Grylls’ trainer and co-author. On stage, there will be live demonstrations including Capoeira and fitness classes throughout the day. There’s also a not-to-be-missed healthy food market!

Tweet The Fitness Festival your questions for Katy and Lauren using the hashtag #getfitbert or send them via email to media@sweat.fitness.

Throughout the day there will be fun challenges and prizes to be won, music and dance, demos and showcases as well as a variety of workouts to get involved in. You can get involved by just turning up on the day. Here are a few of my recommendations although you can find the full timetable over at www.fitnessfestivals.com/timetable.
