Victorious Festival 2020: Line Up Announcement

While we’ve been celebrating Bonfire Night, Halloween, Christmas and New Year, our pals from Victorious Festival have been working hard on this summer’s event. We are excited to share the fruits of their labour as they announce the latest wave of acts to perform, including headliners The Streets, Royal Blood and many more with Ian Brown and The Kooks.

Headlining Saturday and needing no introduction is Birmingham hip-hop act, The Streets. With a career spanning near to 20 years and fronted by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner, The Streets’ debut album ‘Original Pirate Material’, released in 2002 is widely regarded to have changed the face of British rap music, and second album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ was a huge worldwide success spawning hit singles like ‘Fit But You Know It’ and ‘Dry Your Eyes’.

With hotly anticipated album, ‘The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light’ scheduled for release in 2021, expect a mix of classic hits and new releases!

Headlining Sunday is English Rock duo Royal Blood who followed up their self-titled 2014 album with 2017’s ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ – to a similar reaction – with hits such as Come On Over, Little Monster and I Only Lie When I Love You. With a sonic force that brings the primal essence of precocious rock ‘n’ roll, soaring hooks and deft melodies, their live set is sure to be a highlight of this year’s festival.

The stellar line-up also sees Nile Rodgers and Chic. Having sold over 100 million records including huge worldwide hits ‘Good Times’, ‘Everybody Dance’ and ‘Le Freak’. Nile has worked with a staggering list of true music legends, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, David Bowie, Diana Ross, Prince, Mick Jagger and most recently, Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams on hit single ‘Get Lucky’.

Following rave reviews from their latest studio album, ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’, Bombay Bicycle Club also joins the bill and promises to bring indie music to the forefront with a mixture of acoustic melodies, energetic instrumentals and throbbing basslines.

Also on the bill is singer-songwriter Rag ‘N’ Bone Man – known for his deep, baritone voice, Craig David’s TS5, BBC Sounds for 2016 finalists Blossoms, The Fratellis, Welsh rockers Feeder, La Roux, Jonny Marr, Miles Kane, DJ Fresh, indie-rockers Mystery Jets, Morcheeba, Reef, Twin Atlantic, Stereo MC’s, Cast, Eve, Glasvegas, Jaguar Skills, The Snuts, Aaron Smith, John, Wild Front and Andrew Cushin.

Festival director, Andy Marsh describes: “We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s festival. Our first wave of artists were extremely well received and we’re delighted to bring a second wave that is equally as strong.

Going into our ninth year, we really tried to raise the bar and with more artists still to be announced, plus a whole host of family content and world music still to come, we’re convinced this is going to be our best year yet!”

Founded in 2011, Victorious Festival is the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival of music and family entertainment, taking place over the weekend of 28 – 30 August 2020, in the spectacular seaside location of Southsea.

Early bird tickets for Victorious Festival are on sale now. Current prices from just £30 per day (fees apply).
