The ‘Lush bath’ is a weekly Sunday ritual for me- wine glass in one hand, a book in the other, and a brightly coloured bath bomb whizzing around the bath- pure bliss!
For a month from February 25th this ritual was put on hold as the Lush store in The Cascades closed their doors for their new refurbishment. On Thursday 23rd March, the familiar scent of Lush was finally filling The Cascades again as the doors opened for their reopening evening! Hurrah!
For those not in the know- Lush make products from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables and essential oils. Their products are made by hand, using only vegetarian and cruelty-free ingredients with little or no preservatives.
The reopening event truly was a treat for all the senses-brightly coloured products were stacked high around the shiny new store, a selection of irresistible vegan canapes were on offer, and the friendly Lush team were at hand for pampering sessions and personal consultations.
Bubbly in hand, I went from getting a hair consultation in one area to getting a hand massage in another- excitedly picking out limited edition products (Mother Earth is a bath bomb bigger than my head- well, almost) to making my own ‘Comforter’ bubble bar. No question was too big or too small for the ever-welcoming Lush team, although it was most often ‘what’s this? How about this? Ooh what does this one do?!’
The store itself has had a total re-shuffle- complete with recycled, reclaimed wooden fixtures, a kitchen-style skincare unit, and a built-in fridge packed full of fresh face masks. The till system has even had a makeover, now at the opposite end of the store featuring some pretty swanky LED screens.
Find the new look Lush at Unit 1, Cascades shopping centre and pop in for a tour from one of the expert team members, although be warned- you may come out with a treat or two…or three…
