Honeymooner Records and Strong Island Recordings are teaming up once again. This time bringing London-based, international cumbia meets psychedelic and surf-outfit being Los Bitchos to The 1865 in Southampton.
The four piece comprising of lead guitarist, Serra Petale, synth and keytar player Agustina Ruiz, bassist Josefine Jonsson and drummer Nic Crawshaw, will play the venue on the 29th October. This is part of a 13 date UK tour.
Having played their first ‘out-of-London’ show in 2018. At the pocket-sized 50-capacity front-room-esque space being Acapulco Bar Strong Island Recordings.
The Los Bitchos rise has seen them take their fun-filled party sounds across the globe. Including sets at Coachella, Primavera and The Park Stage at Glastonbury. Bringing their sassy sun-drenched, balmy good-times to the masses. They have also held UK & European support slots with King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.
With early releases coming via the Portsmouth-based cult label that is Strong Island Recordings. Including an early rendition and re-working of ‘Trapdoor’, that has since seen a re-release via City Slang, along with a 7” limited-run of ‘Bugs Bunny’.
Los Bitchos has since become one of the most exciting bands on the planet, releasing their debut critically acclaimed album ‘Let The Festivities Begin!’ via City Slang. The quartet will be dropping their sophomore album just in time for the summer’s end with ‘Talkie Talkie’, out 30 August, with a relentless tour taking them to the UK, Europe, US, Canada and Mexico.
Their set at The 1865 in Southampton will be a testament to the outfits rise. Having played the aforementioned Acapulco Bar, plus sets at Dials Festival in The Vaults and at Portsmouth Psych Festival. Along with a sell-out show at The Joiners.
This will be Los Bitchos’ biggest headline tour to date, and The 1865 will also be the biggest standalone show for Strong Island Recordings.
Making the show a truly special one, bringing the label alumni and one of the most fun bands in the universe back to Hampshire.
