Strong Island Recordings at Southsea Fest

As you may have seen a while back, Southsea Fest, the multi-venue, new music festival has returned and will be taking place this year on the 1st October. We’re delighted to announce that the Strong Island Recordings label will be returning where we’ll be celebrating our fourth birthday and taking over the sweat-pit that is The Festing (the upstairs room), and also stripped back, acoustic performances from label family and friends just a few doors down the road at Strong Island Co, 12 Highland Road.

We also have lots of label family and friends coming down to Portsmouth and leading the line-up for our Festing stage are the intense punk, meets gloomy psych quintet Crows, who packed out our Great Escape Festival stage from the get go this year. Following acts include London art-punks Arrows of Love who are big favourites in Portsmouth, grunge-pop trio Gang, spaghetti western like psych meets blues quartet Saint Agnes, dream-pop outfit Wyldest, heavy-psych quartet and one of the best live bands in the country, Melt Dunes and psych-poppers Hunck. There are still more acts to be announced for our main stage and we will have more details about our Strong Island Co stage soon, which will include new label merchandise, an in store exhibition and even beers so keep your eyes peeled. For now you can follow all the updates over at the Facebook events page HERE and listen to a selection of the acts in our 4th Birthday playlist HERE.

Some of the other highlights at other venues that we recommend include Black Honey, Tangerines, Baba Naga, Kagoule, Dream Wife and Honey Blood.

Tickets are just £20 in advance and allow entry into all venues. Head to southseafest.com for more information.
