We heard rumours about 101 Reykjavík some weeks ago, talk of a Southsea located Icelandic bar…sounded interesting to say the least. Inspired by Iceland, 101 Reykjavík will be a ‘kaffibar’ which will have a warm, relaxed and welcoming environment. 101 Reykjavík aims to provide locals and visitors alike with simple, honest food and drink in a friendly setting that perfectly encapsulates the unique spirit of downtown Reykjavík, specifically it’s vibrant, thriving 101 postcode in the centre of town where it’s main thoroughfare Laugavegar harbours a plethora of independent shops, cafes and bars. So despite being the most northerly city, not a million miles away from our own culturally maybe.
Opening on the 1st of February at Sellers Coffeehouse building at the end of Castle Road, we’re looking forward to seeing what the guys behind this have been working on for quite a while and welcoming another new business to Portsmouth. Good luck to Wit and crew from Strong Island!
