Strong Island Recordings’ own Is Bliss are a 4 piece shoegaze/dreampop/grunge outfit creating a beautiful melodic wall of noises. They create an appropriate ‘blissful’ sound with amazing textures creeping through while at the same time are as intense as any band going. Is Bliss’s sound seemingly takes influence from My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive with a hint of Nirvana and Jesus & Mary Chain, rabid yet docile, Is Bliss are an experience. With their debut single ‘Desire’ to be released on the 30th September by Strong Island Recordings supported by Shell Zenner on Amazing Radio and having played the likes of Blissfields, Victorious and the Alternative Escape as well as supporting Nine Black Alps, The History Of Apple Pie, Wolf Alice and shoegaze legends Robin Guthrie and Mark Gardener, Is Bliss are ones to watch for sure, keep an eye out for the flying guitar.
Is Bliss will be playing upstairs at The Southsea Social Club at Southsea Fest in what is possibly their last hometown show for a little while at 19.30pm.
