Champagne Justice at Southsea Social Club with Bad Guys, Wild Smiles and Manreads

A quick reminder that tomorrow night Champagne Justice! will have their next evening at Southsea Social Club with the following bands as the line up for live music plus the Champagne Justice! guys DJing until late, all for £3 on the door. Did we mention that the beer is really cheap too? Consider yourself told. This is going to be good…

Bad Guys

‘A midlander, a southerner, a Canadian and a Hungarian. Three necks, two kicks and no mic stand. Long hair, grey hair, bald-heads and beards. The works. Sounds like a plan. They make the heavy stuff and they play it loud, the way it should be.’ Bad Guys by name and nature. These gentlemen are here to crush, kill and devour your lovely selves, spinning you around and shaking you by the collar until you submit to the roaring sound of drunken giants in heat talking dirt and spouting meaty riffs at your face. Suffice to say, we’re excited. Have a listen to their BandCamp page to get the idea:

Wild Smiles

Wild Smiles are hot young bloods on the psychedelic garage rock scene; they’re making quite the impact already. With their debut EP swiftly sold out and recent spins on Radio 1 – including Introducing and Zane Lowe giving them the ‘Next Hype’ moniker on his show – they make a very warm welcome to our Champagne Justice! shores. Akin to the likes of Ty Segall and White Fence, The Troggs, not to mention Wavves, Wild Smiles are a fuzzy psychedelic blast to warm your February cockles right up.

Manreads

The acceptable face of disintegrating sounds. ManReads are tough. This Portsmouth two-piece bring a combination of punk, noise, pop and math-rock to get your head thumping. Sounds of Shellac and Fugazi crash into LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture, among others. This is motor music you can rasp, dance and pump your fists to in wild abandon. Having torn up the likes of the excellent Noise Night at Bar 56 last year with Battery Hens and The Cosham Community Players, we’re delighted to welcome the pumped up dynamics of ManReads to Champagne Justice!
