6th October sees the return of Dials Festival the multi-venue, metropolitan, new-music festival that’s in support of Solent Mind. Having previously hosted the likes of Dream Wife, Fickle Friends and Black Honey – the 2018 edition sees a heavyweight line-up of emerging national and local acts play across Albert Road in Southsea where the festival takes place.
From Tigercub and Yassassin bringing a riot of riffs, fuzzy-pop from Estrons and Thyla, visceral punk from Hotel Lux and Lice, the psychedelic cyclone that is Melt Dunes and Vinyl Staircase, joyous indie-pop from Jerry Williams and Lauran Hibberd, beatboxing from Grace Savage as well as even more hip-hop from Omar Baba and Highlights of Our Modern World, dance-pop bangers from Curxes and Salt Ashes, crooning-jangly pop of Penelope Isles and Ugly, ethereal, electronic-pop from Art School Girlfriend and Temples of Youth, hardcore savagery from Horseflies, Barbudo’s funky-disco, the sun-soaked-cumbia sounds of Los Bitchos to the frenetic garage-rock of Sleep Eaters and Mystic Peach – Dials Festival is an eclectic affair that will be great for music lovers across a broad spectrum.
Tickets for the multi-venue, not-for-profit festival can be purchased at www.dialsfestival.com or www.wedgewood-rooms.co.uk or via the The Wedgewood Rooms box office for just £16. For a further taste of what you can expect at the event, check out their Spotify playlist.
