In Rust We Trust is a study in the beauty of urban decay by Portsmouth-based Artists My Dog Sighs, Los Dave and M-one with the exhibition held at Room 237 on Elm Grove. The three artist have very different approaches yet share the love for rust and urban decay:
– Los Dave’s intricate and loose and fluid calligraphic inspired landscapes.
– M-One’s innovative use of stencils depicting delicate birds, and a love of all things four-wheeled and rusty.
– My Dog Sighs’s melancholic characters, deep penetrating eyes and of course crushed food cans.
Using canvas, cans, wood and found materials these three artists work with paint and nature to weave their delicate magic.
The Preview night is on Thursday 13th September and will feature live music from Portsmouth’s very own Rusty Sheriff, free booze (from sponsor Something Interesting), food and a show of new, as yet unseen, work as well as a few surprises.
The show runs will run until 23rd September. This will be a must visit exhibition this Autumn and we’re really looking forward to it. You can keep up to date with developments on the Facebook Event.
