Upcoming: William Doyle at Pie & Vinyl

Pie & Vinyl continues its impressive series of instore shows next Tuesday evening (Feb 20th at 7pm), with a performance by critically acclaimed artist William Doyle. The Mercury Prize-nominated artist releases his latest record – ‘Springs Eternal’ – this week and it’s arguably his finest album to date.

Produced by Mike Lindsay (Tunng, LUMP), ‘Springs Eternal’ unfolds as the latest chapter in the William Doyle sonic odyssey. This journey began with his incarnation as East India Youth, featuring notable releases such as ‘Total Strife Forever’ (2014) and ‘Culture of Volume’ (2015). Transitioning to his own name, Doyle continued his impressive output with critically acclaimed records ‘Your Wilderness Revisited’ (2019) and the recently highly celebrated ‘Great Spans of Muddy Time’ (2021). Alongside his own output, Doyle recently produced Anna B Savage’s acclaimed debut album ‘A Common Turn’ (2021) and plays in ex Maccabee Orlando Weeks’ band both live and on his upcoming record.

Doyle has established himself as one of the most experimental and captivating British songwriters and world builders today. Having drawn comparisons to the likes of Radiohead and Brian Eno (an individual who incidentally, plays on the latest album), his previous LP  ‘Great Spans of Muddy Time’ earned spots on various end-of-year lists. The Metro hailed the record as “among the best albums of the century.”

This series of record store performances begins a busy time for the musician. Next month sees him support BC Camplight on his latest tour – our nearest show is Southampton Papillon on Thursday 7th March – before embarking on his own solo tour, starting in Brighton at Alphabet on Tues 19th March.

Showtime for the Pie & Vinyl instore show is 7pm. Entry is FREE though to guarantee a ticket you can purchase the album directly from the store here: https://www.pandvrecords.co.uk/product/william-doyle-springs-eternal-album-release-celebration/
