Preview: Pitt Street Skatepark Festival – The Bank Holiday Bonanza

Exciting news! Pitt Street Skatepark are holding their first festival, where music meets extreme sports.

There will also be delicious independent food and beer on sale, stalls and features from popular skate brands. Alongside the 20+ bands playing will be skate and BMX competitions, skate jams, and a roller disco with some of the Pitts favourite DJ’s.

The event is coming up soon on the 26/27/28 May.

“WELCOME TO THE ULTIMATE CELEBRATION OF SKATE CULTURE.

This May bank holiday Pitt St Indoor Skatepark is hosting the three-day punk, hip hop, and psych festival, where music, adrenaline, and excitement collide!

Witness a thrilling display of extreme sports such as skateboarding, BMXing, scootering, and inline rollerblading, all in one action-packed event.

Join us for an unforgettable day of noisy head-banging music and jaw-dropping stunts, as we bring together some of the best emerging punk, psych, and hip-hop artists and extreme sports athletes in the region.

This festival promises to be a treat for all the senses, with high-energy performances, incredible tricks, great food and drink, and a vibrant atmosphere that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

In addition to the live music chaos, we have also set up our now famous roller disco for those who want to have a cruz and a boogie to some of the city’s loved DJ’s

Whether you’re a hardcore punk fan, a seasoned skater, or just looking for a fun day out with friends, this festival has something for everyone.

Entrance to the skatepark is included in the price of the ticket!

See you in the Pitt.”

Pitt St Indoor Skatepark founder Jake Skinner says:

“Pitt St. Bank Holiday Bonanza is the perfect way of showcasing local talent and a wide variety of different creative expressions from around the county. Not only do we have a plethora of alternative sounds on the main stage and in the temple wheels, where we will be hosting roller discos and late night disco parties.

The skatepark remains fully functioning throughout the weekend accessible for public use along with Jams, prizes, and giveaways! If you didn’t already know, we are a non-profit here at Pitt St. so all the money made from this event goes into keeping the fire burning!”

There is a whole host of music on the cards, from the feel good power pop of The Stayawakes to the sublime Friday Night Weird Dreams, and the promise of seriously heavy sets from bands like Bitterman, Body Crisis and Scab. Local DJs are also stepping up to keep the crowds bopping throughout. Here is the full line up as it stands.
