Urbanimals Zine Launched by Six Illustrators from the University of Portsmouth

Six student illustrators based at the University of Portsmouth, have created and published an innovative new zine, featuring their work. The students Jordan Baines, Vernon De Lima, James Ferdinand Price, Dan Burchett, Adam McIllmurray and Chris Essel hand printed the zine which varies in length at around 2.5 metres long. The theme of the publication is the urbanisation of animals and how they have developed new habitats within the city from their natural country habitats. The group researched the subject and have also given it a slight satirical twist by using animals that you wouldn’t see in the city such as a giraffe (image that for a minute…!).

The zine also includes a ‘free art’ voucher which the buyer of the zine can punch out and hand in over the counter and select a particular piece of art, a fun and engaging way of sharing a distributing their work.

The zine is limited edition to only 30 copies and only costs £7, available direct from Southsea Coffee Co on Osborne Road in Southsea. Be quick!
