An Exhibition of work by Carol Ellen Stickland

An Exhibition of work by Carol Ellen Stickland

“I am self-taught with much encouragement from my husband, children and friends. I am still exploring and experimenting with styles and media, which makes my work varied and interesting, ranging from Chinese Brush and watercolour through to mixed media with collage. I enjoy photography and use many of my studies of wild life and landscapes to inspire me. However, my heart is in painting, because a camera is but a mechanical device which records a moment in time, but not what that moment means, nor the emotions that it evokes, whereas a painting, however imperfect it may be, is an impression of feeling – an expression of love.”

You can view Carols work at Le Cafe Parisien on Lord Montgomery Road, Portsmouth from the 22nd February till April the 11th, Monday-Saturday from 9.00 till 5.30. You can contact carol at carolellen@ntlworld.com or on 07774403752 regarding her work or the exhibition.
