The Eastney Beam Engine House.

Stuck on things to do at the weekend? Short on dollar due to Christmas shopping? Thankfully Portsmouth and Southsea offers many free attractions dotted around the city, but none more impressive than the Eastney Beam Engine House on Henderson Road. This magnificent Victorian building and working relic of the past is a must see if you are yet to go. Containing a pair of classic Boulton Watt beam engines and pumps faithfully restored to their original 1887 condition. Entrance is free and you can even help yourself to a mug of tea or coffee in exchange for a small donation.
