Jacob describes himself and his art as “I need art. Art impacts on every aspect of my life, I am always aware of it and it’s something I constantly think about. I think about it when I see the mundane and unnoticed happenings of my world; like when I look out of my window and see strangers glued to the same patch of road, when I see a pigeon idly pecking the ground for sustenance, and is brushed aside by an unsympathetic commuter. I see art when another tasteless advert steals my attention in the vain attempt to sell me trash I don’t need. I can see it in the suspended wires above our heads carrying idle conversations, and in the decay of another flat hedgehog caught in the cross fire. I see it in the mirror every morning. And, I also feel it in conversation or equally the lack of. In spite of these influences I feel it most when I am uncomfortable.”
Jakob work can be seen at Garbos Gallery till the end of November. Jakob can be contacted via his website.
