So, places in London, rules were that the place had to be in the title, but songs with London specifically in the title were no good e.g. London Loves by Blur, London’s Burning by The Clash. Nor were songs referencing London in the lyrics e.g. Common People by Pulp “she studied sculpture at St Martin’s college”, One Man Band by Leo Sayer (more’s the pity !!) “everybody knows you in Ladbroke Grove”.
