In 1983, Alan McGee took out a £1000 loan to start a record label. In 1991, Creation release 3 of its most important and influential albums; ‘Screamadelica’ by Primal Scream, ‘Bandwagonesque’ by Teenage Fanclub and the almost bankrupting ‘Loveless’ by My Bloody Valentine. The label is still independent. In 1997, Oasis release the fastest selling album of all time with ‘Be Here Now’ shifting 420,000 copies on the day of release. Ok, it’s a shitty record but a pretty impressive feat nonetheless. In 2000, Creation ceases to exist, having brought us some of the greatest bands and albums ‘Indie’ music had to offer. And Kevin Rowland in drag. Enjoy. Grab this weeks playlist HERE and check the previous playlist HERE. Cheers Pet Sounds.
