Since the installation of Luna Park in August Aspex has been inundated with entries for FOTOsaurus, their competition in which they challenged you to take creative photographs of what was Portsmouth’s most unusual temporary landmark.

“With such a large number & range of entries, it was a tough contest & an even tougher task to choose the winners! In the end we decided to award not one, but thirteen prizes! Each photo selected will win a place in a 2011 calendar of Luna Park images, along with a signed print by Heather & Ivan Morison. All profits from sales of the calendar will go towards the gallery’s creative programme, so that aspex can continue to plan & show artworks that engage the people of Portsmouth & beyond, just as Luna Park has done.

To celebrate the winners and officially launch the calendar, aspex will host the FOTOsaurus Finale next Friday 29 October. Come along to the gallery from 6pm, see the FOTOsaurus photographs on our big screen & congratulate the competition winners. The event will finish before 8pm, just in time to watch Gunwharf Quay’s fantastic musical firework display on the waterfront.”
