As regular readers will know we give our full support to cycling in Portsmouth & Southsea and always plug the worthy causes and developments that regularly occur. As many of you know the planned cycle route on the Promenade was axed causing a big stir after over 3000 people voted in favour of the agreed route. Not good.

The good people at the Portsmouth Cycle Forum had planned a Family Bike Ride on Southsea seafront to show there’s support for a promenade cycle lane, but unfortunately felt is was best to cancel after an accident occurred the week before as a reversing motorist knocked a man off his bike. A serious problem that was discussed on Strong Island as well.
