The Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society is celebrating their centenary this year and will be holding a summer exhibition in August (more details on that nearer the time). The society was originally formed in 1909 under the guidance of the renowned marine artist W. L. Wyllie R.A., who then became the first President. The society welcomes both professional and amateur artists and a range of styles and media, there are now over 200 members. As well as the summer exhibitions the society also holds weekly workshop meetings bringing together the members and helping provide support and advice.
