Shorts Cut from the Portsmouth Film Society is a showcase for the best in local short films by all kinds of filmmakers, from keen enthusiasts to professionals. This year’s Shorts Cut is looking for entertaining, engaging and thought-provoking films in a range of genre, from animation to documentary, comedy to drama, up to a maximum length of 15 minutes. 

Shorts::Cut 2017 is now open for submissions. Please submit your film Standard Definition PAL DVD or as a High Definition Quicktime file and the closing date for submissions is the 20th November 2017. Submissions for each film are £7, but every submission will receive two tickets to the screening in November/December (date TBC). Eligible films will be entered in the News Guide award for Best Local Short Film announced at a glittering gala event in January 2018.
