The Learning Place located next to the post office in North End is a key local resource in providing a space where local people are able to take part in a wide range of individual and group activities and workshops, ranging from arts & crafts, media and music to cooking, languages and many, many more (we featured The Learning Place on Strong Island previously – you can read the article HERE). As with all publicly funded resources like this, funding is very tight and there are significant worries that funding will be withdrawn, putting this key Portsmouth community facility in serious risk or forcing the course fees to rise making them out of reach to many people who need them.

You can show your support for The Learning Place by quickly signing this online petition that aims to highlight just how important The Learning Place is to the people of Portsmouth. It takes a few seconds to sign and even if you don’t directly use the facility, every signature of support could be the one that makes the difference. If you don’t stand up and show support for these places in these particularly dire financial times, they will disappear.
