PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA'S No.1 for ARTS, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE

Art in.

So for anyone who isn’t going to Bestival this weekend, Aspex are going to be hosting an Art-in on Saturday. It is finishing off the season of asking “what’s your revolution?”. The event has been organised by local artist Ashley John and has been inspired by the French student and worker protests of ’68. It aims to reflect how creativity can be fuelled in times of hardship and civil un-rest.

A great opportunity for creative people to come down and use the space to make some revolution/protest inspired artwork. Kicking off with our childrens workshop Mini-Makers, artist Jonathan Parsons will be present all day creating a glorious flag based work of art, also Ooh la Lapin will be making some textile based work at the gallery and will also later be opening our new ROCPO exhibition. Finally to finish off we have our After Hours open mic session from 7-9.

Come down and make some art, I won’t even mind if you take over the tables in the cafe, where incidentally I’ll be serving some stirling coffee and chilled drinks all day.
