PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA'S No.1 for ARTS, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE

The Ruby Ride

The Ruby Ride for Rowans Hospice is a sponsored bike ride in and around Portsmouth with a choice of four great routes. All routes start and finish at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour. The four different rides are:

Fun – Suitable for children of all ages as it is all off road and follows the cycle path from 1000 Lakeside to the Mountbatten Centre and back again (approximately 3.5 miles).

Leisure – Suitable for all those who are able to cycle on the road; this route will loop around the whole of Portsea Island and back to 1000 Lakeside (approximately 18 miles).

Challenge – Going the extra miles with a challenging hill, which takes in panoramic views of Portsmouth, you’ll get the chance to ride past the Hospice and back to 1000 Lakeside through Portchester (approximately 30 miles).

Epic – The most challenging of our four routes, this Epic cycle will take you on the same route as the Challenge route but takes you up to Petersfield and back down through the Meon Valley, through Wickham joining the route again in Portchester.

All participants will receive a t-shirt, refreshments en route and a medal on completion. The Ruby Ride takes place on Sunday 30th September and will have staggered start times from 9am. You can download a registration form on the Rowans website:
