A little while ago we posted up an article about photographer Daniel Meadows and his nationally iconic 1974 Portsmouth photograph of John Payne, his friends and his pigeon Checker (you can read it HERE). Daniel has spent many years locating, interviewing and re-photographing his photo subjects from the 1970s but John Payne sadly couldn’t be located…we hoped that maybe we might be able to not only highlight the original photograph but also maybe help put Daniel in touch with John.
We’re really happy to say that thanks to John’s sister Wendy we have been able to get Daniel and John in touch with each other. A big, big thank you to everyone who Tweeted, liked on Facebook or just got the word out there, it is really appreciated!
