Last Monday saw the opening preview night of Mia Mai’s ‘Ink Exhibition’. Mia Mai is local illustrator and jewellery, fashion designer Ami Lowman. Ink is Ami’s first illustration exhibition displaying her fine talent for creating something a little different. A mix between tattoo art, mexican day of the dead designs, fantasy and vintage fashion the works are a very unique take on some more well known mediums.
Ami transformed the basement of Room 237 in to an exhibition lounge space with lamps, tables, amazing food, luxurious drinks and a fantastic collection of hand drawn art adorning the walls. Utilising both basement spaces with a lighter more open space and the back darker more moody room with music by Southsea’s own Mark Persaud.
For more info head over to www.miamai.co.uk and be sure to head down to Room 237 for a look. ‘Ink’ is showing till the 25th June. More photos can be seen over at the Mia Mai Facebook.
