Does Portsmouth Need a Multi-Artform Hub? Let Take Time Portsmouth Know Your Thoughts

SPARE A FEW MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE SIMPLE SURVEY

Take Time Portsmouth is a group of local creatives that first met during the first lockdown with virtual meet-ups, talks and workshops and still meet online every Tuesday evening. During these meet-ups there has been a lot of discussion around the cultural needs of Portsmouth and the possibility of a gap in what is currently available that would be a multi-artform centre/hub for the arts to complement existing provision. The idea has been developed and this research has already garnered support from Portsmouth City Council. Now Ben and the Take Time crew are asking for input from all of the city’s creatives.

Take Time are looking at options for the use or conversion of an existing building in the city. In the first instance they need to demonstrate that there is demand for such a facility; they are therefore conducting a survey of local arts and community organisations and individual arts practitioners to gauge the level of interest in using such a facility, and the level of support from the arts sector.

It is envisaged that an arts hub would have a range of facilities. Take Time want to know which types of facilities the creative sector in Portsmouth would like to see in such a building. Examples of similar places could be The Spring in Havant, The Ashcroft Centre in Fareham, The West End Centre in Aldershot, etc.

Take Time would greatly appreciate your input into the development process and would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete the simple survey linked below. This will help them make the case for a new arts/creative sector facility. It is essential that they are able to demonstrate a high level of demand and interest for this idea, so also please share this with any creatives or organisations in the city that you know.
