After celebrating their 10th year with a recent exhibition and a visit by HRH Princess Anne, Making Space in Leigh Park will be opening their doors again for their 11th Open Studio weekend since the building was opened in May 2007. Opening over the 19th & 20th of May, there are lots of changes this year as they have welcomed 3 new tenants over the last 12 months. As always Open Studios allows you the chance to visit the makers in their studio, chat to them about their work, inspirations, current projects and even buy directly from the maker.
In addition to the Maker Studios they also have 3 different creative exhibitions for everyone to enjoy:
Inspired is the Making Space annual participant and tutor showcase. This is an inspiring chance to see some of the beautiful work that has been created on the Making Space workshops.
Associate Maker Showcase
A chance for Making Space to shine a spotlight on their talented associate makers who are teaching in the upcoming season. A mix of different disciplines and styles, this exhibition will show off the talents of the makers Making Space brings in to lead their workshops.
Making Matters – Pivotal Point
A fun and inspiration exhibition focussing in on that pivotal moment that started you making! A mix of artists, makers, creatives and writers will be contributing to this fun exhibition.
