Portsmouth Film Society | Charlie Chaplin’s ‘Modern Times’

On Saturday 30th August the Portsmouth Film Society invite you to join them in the Portsmouth Natural History Museum Gardens for a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s ‘Modern Times’.

Considered Charles Chaplin’s last “silent” film, though Chaplin uses sound, vocal, and musical effects throughout. Chaplin is an assembly-line worker driven insane by the monotony of his job. After a long spell in an asylum, he searches for work, only to be mistakenly arrested as a union agitator. A slapstick skewering of industrialized America, Modern Times is as politically incisive as it is laugh-out-loud hilarious.

The showing begins at 9:30pm, for more information on how you can get involved, check out the PFS website HERE.
