The Rowans Hospice has proudly launched The Ruby Ride – a new Hospice fundraising event which is going to take place on Sunday 30th September 2012. This is the first time the Hospice has organised a cycle fundraising event and with all routes passing through Portsmouth and Southsea, their events team are encouraging Strong Island followers to take part.

Routes range from 3.5 – 60 miles and cover the whole of The Rowans catchment area – from Eastney Swimming Baths right up to Petersfield. The ride is being supported by local online bike seller, Wiggle who were there yesterday at the launch. Wiggle have also chosen The Rowans as their local charity of the year.

The Rowans Hospice covers Portsmouth and South-East Hampshire and provides all its services to patients and families for free. The Hospice are committed to delivering all their services to the highest possible standards, and in order to do this, they need to make more than £4 million annually. The Ruby Ride is all set to be an annual fundraising event for The Hospice.
