Seriously! How exciting is this? I’ve been meaning to post this for ages and nearly forgot. I’ve never been to an air show myself, although I did sit on a Concorde once, and I for one cant wait. What a perfect viewing platform we have down on the seafront.
“Nestling between the Olympics, the inaugural Portsmouth Air Festival will provide a spectacular event focused on Southsea Common in aid of the Armed Forces charities. The Air Festival will be an inspiring celebration of the commitment and dedication of the tri-Services men and women, who have given so much time, effort and support to make the day something really special for the City and surrounding communities to enjoy.”
Not only is the event free, but profits will go towards the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund, ABF – The Soldiers’ Charity and Exercise Tiger Trust with the remainder going towards the 2013 Air Festival.
And the real attraction for many will of course be the return of the RAF Red Arrows making this a very special occasion for more reasons than one. Proper excited…
