Habibur Rahman is a Portsmouth based photographer, artist and a graduate from Portsmouth University with over 10 years of photographic experience from sporting events to weddings.
Habibur is currently holding an exhibition in the Kings Theatre entitled ‘Enlightenment’. Habibur describes the images at the exhibition as “an advancement of his digitally manipulated photographs of light under long exposure. Fire is the most potent symbol in both eastern and western art, each having simliar yet powerful connotations. Using western symbols in popular culture, I’ve used the style of Chinese brush paintings to illustrate the clash of symbols between East and West.”
The images are displayed on the wall just before you enter the theatre hall, but staff are usually able to direct or take the viewers to the exhibit. As you can see from the images here anyone interested in Photography should take the time to check out Habibur’s work.
The exhibition is free and open now, it will run until the 7th May.
