www.ATaleofOneCity.portsmouth.gov.uk is a new online community archive for the city of Portsmouth. The website contains information about the people, places and events that tell the story of Portsmouth past and present. Visitors to the website can also help to build the archive by adding their own entries, photographs, memories and comments.

The A Tale of One City website was created as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund project of the same name, which celebrates the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens. However, the site is about much, much more than just Dickens and will have a life beyond 2012.

As part of the project the Friday Club at the John Pounds Centre created a short film where they recount some of their memories of some of the life and times of the city.
