Light at the End of the Tunnel

With the Hindhead tunnel now open the Portsmouth Waterfront City tourist programme has utilised it in it’s marketing for the city, hoping many more people will take advantage of the huge travel time savings on the A3 route and visit Portsmouth and Southsea. We’ve featured many vintage tourism posters and artwork over the years and many of them were related to train travel to allow people easier access to the city, beach and other tourist attractions, it seems the tunnel may well be the inspiration for future designs.

    Well in for a penny!

Hi it’s John I’m the Creative Director over at MindWorks in Emsworth. http://www.mindworks.co.uk/ Yep it was us who did the tunnel campaign. Sorry this one isn’t to everyone’s liking, but we’re proud of it and feedback is always good to hear. What I would say is that if you are a freelance designer or illustrator, we’re always looking for good people, so if you’re interested drop me a line john.reynolds@mindworks.co.uk Oh I nearly forgot we’re looking for another full-time junior web developer!

The concept is good, but I agree, it would have been nice to see a more creative approach.

I prefer the old phrase, “Portsmouth – Gateway To France”.
