Friday was the launch night of the University of Portsmouth’s Showtime 2011 event at the Eldon Building featuring work from foundation through to final year graduating students on creative courses including fashion, fine art, 3D, graphic design, illustration, tv production, computer game design, etc. The evening was very busy with people catching the two fashion show either live or via the live feed or wandering around between the different floors checking out the exhibitions of work. Particular personal favourites were the 3D computer games demos (amazing), the meat cushions in 3D, the (mockumentry?) music producer film in TV, dressage horse stills and a book about the Wedgewood Rooms in photography plus the store in illustration with loads of cool zines, badges, prints and more. Props to the tv production crew who had loads of ice cold beers and fan heaters too which made the hot evening even better.
