Anita Bell is a highly skilled local craft-person and artist with a wide variety of work ranging from intricate impressionist inspired pictures to beautiful handmade paper. One small part of her wide body of work is entitled Horizons and Skies which is a subject I personally find fascinating. The unique and individual pieces are composed of various combinations of dyed and stitched papers, handmade paper, natural fibres and couched threads and come from looking towards the horizon, an imaginary line where earth or sea meets the sky and reflects a distant landscape and changing light particularly at dawn and dusk.
Be sure to take some time to look through Anita’s work, much of which is available to buy are very reasonably prices.
