Get on Your Bike at Gunwharf This Saturday

Everyone is being urged to push pedals this summer and get on their bikes with Hampshire County Council’s third Summer of Cycling campaign.

Cycle Hampshire ’10 – will kick off in true style at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, on Saturday 24 April, between 10am and 3pm, where there will be a festival of cycling events.

It will be a great opportunity to try out all sorts of different bikes as well watch cycling displays by M.A.D, the UK’s number one mountainbike stunt and display team and Cycle Experience. It will also be a great opportunity to find out about a host of special cycling events and competitions happening across the county between May and September.

Cycling has many health benefits for all ages from toddlers to the over 70’s, it can get people out and about exploring Hampshire’s cities to the beautiful countryside, while getting fit at the same time.

“Events will be running all over the summer in conjunction with Cycle Hampshire ’10 which is designed to encourage us all to become more active. Everyone can get involved, whether it’s a fun family cycle, a relaxing jaunt in the forest, a 50-mile bike ride for the full-on cyclist or training for beginners, there are events to suit all abilities.”
