A walk along Southsea seafront saves lives in India

If you’re planning on taking a stroll on May bank holiday, how about you do it for charity? Maria Lyons, who works at the register office, is organising a ten-mile sponsored walk along Southsea seafront, to raise money for a children’s charity in India and needs many more people to put their best foot forward.

Maria said: “For nearly 20 years, Tripura Foundation has been committed to abolishing extreme poverty. Through programs designed to eradicate hunger, educate children and empower women and girls, they seek to end the cycle of extreme poverty once and for all.

“For the past three years I have organised charity walks and we have raised over £4,000. This money has been used to provide food and education for the girls, but currently the girl’s home is looking to purchase further property as the demand for assistance is always growing.

“This year I would like it to be our biggest group yet and be able to raise funds for this fantastic charity, so if you would like further information or think you could assist us please follow the link below or contact me for a sponsorship form or further details.”
