Southampton’s newest live music venue – Papillon – continues its recent run of exciting live acts by welcoming Steve Mason to their stage this Friday – 1st December. Having been a founding member of The Beta Band, Mason has now released 5 solo albums including this year’s stunning ‘Brothers & Sisters’ which he played a few tracks from at Pie & Vinyl earlier this year in what was a stellar stripped back in-store performance. 

His most open, honest and vibrant solo record to date, it marries the personal and the political but does so in an emotive and uplifting manner. Written against a backdrop of fear and uncertainty Brothers & Sisters is in fact an incredibly joyous, even spiritual, listen. Perfect to listen to in a venue which used to be a church then. 

Papillon is on Commercial Road, opposite the Mayflower and only a 5 minute walk from the train station. Check out the website for some photos of this awesome venue.
