Hallowe’en is nearly upon us, so we’re looking into the range of quirky events at our independent bars & restaurants this spooky season. At the ‘Grave Maiden’ you can absorb yourselves in some good old fashioned magic with their Victorian Magic Night on October 27.
The evening guest stars Lilly Morello, an up-and-coming female magician who has been dabbling in magic since she was a child. Her amazing tricks will leave you baffled! For a sneak peek, take a look at her promo video.
Lilly will be joined by The Prat in the Hat, who’ll be previewing his new show FREAK. You’ll find yourself mesmerized, shocked and horrified by his inhuman stunts and routines, inspired by the classic travelling freak performers of the late 18th & 19th centuries – it’s not for the faint hearted!
If you haven’t been to the Wave Maiden yet (where have you been?), you need to know that it’s Southsea’s number one spot for micro and independently brewed beers and ciders. And as if the liquid nectar isn’t enough, they have an extensive menu of delicious, homemade cheese-based dishes. Magic, beer and cheese. Swoon.
Tickets for the Victorian Magic Night are a mere £5 and can be bought in person at The Wave Maiden (Osborne Road, Southsea) or reserved via Facebook. Seating is limited, so get in quick!
