Fugitive Orchestra EP Launch

This Friday evening James Tattington aka Fugitive Orchestra will be taking over the Wave Maiden to launch his latest EP ‘Heterochromia’.

James explains, “The inspiration for the title came from a conversation with a friend probably over a year ago, prior to which I’d never heard of heterochromia (which is a condition that affects the colour of a person’s eyes, hair or skin and can result in someone being born with different coloured eyes). This started me thinking about perspectives, and wondering if a person had eyes of different colours, could they see things through two different perspectives at the same time? This is something I try and do a lot within my songwriting, particularly with the interchangeable use of ‘I’ and ‘you’ which is something I like to play around with in a song – almost as if I’m giving the person (who has been addressed as ‘you’ for the whole song) the chance to speak; that’s something you might notice in a few of the songs on this EP, hence the title.”

When I spoke to James he went on to describe how the EP deals with themes of identity, age, and perspectives. So if that sounds like something that you are on board with then get yourself down to the Wave Maiden from 7:30pm. You will find support on the night from Sacha, Matt Harrison and Joe Booley. Space is limited so make sure that you get down there early to avoid disappointment!
