PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA'S No.1 for ARTS, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE

The Portsmouth Beer Festival

It is with great excitement that I can announce the return of The Portsmouth Beer Festival to The Guildhall this May! After a three year hiatus the biggest and most comprehensive two day festival is back and promises to be better than ever. Get your tasting notes ready to tackle 120 cask ales, a cider bar and an array of foreign bottled beers. Discover new tipples from Brewdog, Kernel and Tiny Rebel, or reaffirm your love for local breweries such as Irving, Oakleaf and The Brewhouse. Naturally there will be live music for your entertainment; paint it black with the The Bog Rolling Stones on the Friday evening session, enjoy the bohemian charms of The Day Of The Rabblement during the Saturday daytime session or have a good old sing-along with The Southsea Alternative Choir, who will be headlining in the evening. The UK beer scene has gained tremendous momentum over the past years, reaching out to a wider and more diverse audience. As such the conditions for the return of the Beer Festival have never been better. With the current high interest in craft beers and establishments that offer in situ brewing, this year is shaping up to be an absolute banger. Tickets are £10 per session which includes a souvenir glass, a programme and a pint to get you on your way. The next day hangover is complimentary.

Further information on the event can be found on their Facebook, Twitter and their own web page.
