PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA'S No.1 for ARTS, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE

Wasted Hours at Room 237

Wasted Hours is an art exhibition by Joe Menage, Matt Lindsay, Sarah Bird and Florence Cobb. The exhibition explores youth and growing up.

The preview night is on Wednesday 26th September at Room 237’s Gold Room from 7pm-10pm. Everyone is welcome! There will be food, drinks and music supplied.

Each with our their totally different mediums of working, they all pull together and create an art space that tackles themes such as ‘Youth’ and ‘Growing up’; something in which everyone can empathise with.

– Joe uses analogue collage to depict certain memories and themes you encounter and recollect about growing up i.e.; ‘ protection, adventure and even young love’
– Matt has created textural paintings and 3D pieces to express the idea of ‘Life after education’ and the role education has played throughout our lives.
– Sarah has been working on a series of embroidered portraits focussing on role models/pin-ups/icons.
– Flo has produced photographic portraits of those who are in their prime of growing in to young adults.
