The Young Artists of Southsea Exhibition is a showcase of photography and fine art by a range of artists from the area. The pieces present a focus on aesthetics which is a refreshing change from the conceptual art being presented by the London galleries and vary from traditional photography to line and ink work. The artists are all from the South and have been inspired by the creative atmosphere of the city, their names are Jack Evans, Eugene Noble, Dougal Taylor, Hannah Matthews, Miles Quinn, Connie Chen, Nick Hind, Becki Wensley, Dani Green, Imogen Short, Arran Shurvinton, Oskar Jeff, Bethany Depledge, and Sikes Mulligan-Ward.
The event will be held from Thursday 28th June until Saturday 30th June, 10am-6pm at Room 237, 76 Elm Grove, a graphic novel and book boutique which offers a creative space in the basement.
The preview night will be held tomorrow 7-10pm. This is a great a chance to meet the artists, curator and where food, drinks and entertainment will be available.
