I first caught wind of this about a month ago through friends and word of mouth, and man was I excited. Carter’s On The Camber is a new BBQ shack situated down in Old Portsmouth, run by Texas native Carter and his wife April, COTC delivers everything that you love most about Southern American barbecue; pulled pork and slaw, brisket, ribs and spicy loaded beans. On Saturday was the grand opening which included more free food then you could shake a stick at. Tray after tray of food washed down with homemade lemonade kept the sizable crowd more than content. No matter how full you were it was simply impossible to say no to another forearm sized rib. It seems like the word soon got out about this, a great crowd of local faces came round the corner to hang out and shoot the breeze. Good times.
