I’ve literally just had a flurry of photos sent in showing the once popular (to some) Joannas Night Club on fire down on the Seafront opposite South Parade Pier.
Reports are not pointing at arson, and Facebook chat claims an electrical fault. Starting at 5.35pm when officers were called out, the blaze was still going past 8pm and even a section of the roof collapsed. No one has been injured and the authorities are on top of things. Read the full NEWS report as of 7pm 9th August HERE. Heavy gig.
Thanks to our keen eyed and camera ready readers for sending these ‘as it happened’ photos through. People in the field.
Edit: Charlie just sent me a photo his dad took this morning of what remains of the building.

When I got up at 6.45 this morning they were still working on putting the fire out, well done to the fire service for working through the night and keeping the area safe for people.

Considering I was the boss of the Casino there and spent many a happy time pulling everything I could that walked in Joannas I look at the picture of the flames with deep regret.
Courted the wife in the Savoy[Cosham girl] so at least I have the memories and photo’s.Sad but some millionaires will live there once luxury flats have been built!
