PORTSMOUTH GUILDHALL : 25TH FEBRUARY
Vegans rejoice, Portsmouth is getting its very own Vegan Festival – coming to Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 25th February.
Meat & dairy fans needn’t switch off here; there’s plenty for you too. Yes, you. With over 100 stalls, cooking demonstrations and talks, why wouldn’t there be?
There’ll be a selection of hot caterers offering food from around the world – including Italian, Chinese, English, Malaysian, African – plus food & drink to take away; cakes, milkshakes, chocolate, raw food, cheese and free samples. You’ll be able to buy clothing, footwear, jewellery, gifts and homeware too. And there’s even a vegan body building competition!
Retailers include Debs’ Pantry, The Little Vegan Cookie Company, Go with the Fro, Badgers, The Vegan Cakery, Bute Island Foods, Wear Your Voice and Mr Nice Pie.
Talks will include topics such as how to go vegan, tips on what to eat, affordability, health and vitamins.
There hasn’t been a festival of its kind in Portsmouth since 2015 and organiser Victoria Bryceson wants to make it an annual event. The event is 100% not-for-profit with all proceeds going to Victoria’s charity, Miracle’s Mission – a UK-based charity that works with sick, injured and difficult animals worldwide.
But, y’know, don’t real men eat meat? Sorry to tell you this but that’s about as outdated as thinking that vegans only wear kaftans with socks and sandal combos.
So vegans – bring a curious non-vegan friend. Non vegans – there’s cake and pie. Nuff said.
Portsmouth Vegan Festival: Saturday 25th February, 11am – 5pm.
£3 entry fee, payable on the day on the door. Under 16’s free. VIP tickets including fast track entry and a goody bag full of vegan products, samples and money off coupons are £13 available in advance from email@example.com (100 only)
